Gallery 5

"I love my journals and am about to start my 40th book," writes Lesley, who sent us this picture of a Michael Roger journal that she decorated.

What a charming book! Lesley did a great job of customizing her product. Every journal owner fills out the inside of his or her book -- but decorating the cover is also an option, and it's a terrific choice for people who want their book to express an aspect of their personality that plain red cloth (or whatever your cover material happens to be) just can't convey. Thanks, Lesley!

Mike Stilkey -- Book Art

Check out the book art of Mike Stilkey. He's an LA based artist whose brush strokes can be seen on old book covers and vintage vinyl alike (one in the same when it comes to our vintage LP books!).

Very cool stuff.

Yes!!! We've finally made it to Prime Time!

When ABC's fourth season of Ugly Betty premiers next Thursday the perceptive Michael Roger fan will catch a few familiar items as a new part of the show's set design. Both our orange and white cloth binders will be featured as well as our orange and white cigar style boxes.

She may not be the prettiest but she sure knows how to dress an office!

Mo-----ne

As part of our ongoing Moleskine watch, we bring you this hilarious legal warning from the company's Brand Terms.

The gist is that should a fellow get the urge to use the name Moleskine anywhere "in the net," said chap must first shoot Moleskine's corporate lawyers a quick email to confirm that he is, in fact, permitted to use that sacred word. He should know that his request will be "valued carefully," which may or may not mean that he will receive a cash reward for his troubles.

We love you too!

The Woodgrain Decomposition Book is now featured on weloveyouso.com, the official website for Spike Jonze's upcoming film "Where the Wild Things Are."

Weloveyouso blogs about things that might appeal to the Spike Jonze-loving public -- and as members of that public we're very pleased to have been selected for a shout-out.

Thanks, Molly! Thanks, Spike!

Big in Japan

Michael Roger now has its LP products in one of Tokyo's biggest vinyl department stores. "One of?" That's right, we need to specify -- the Japanese are very fond of vinyl. Our LP notebooks, jacket books, 45 photo albums and mini binders are now available at Dance Music Record, a mecca for fans of old school media: vinyl . . . books. Take a tour here.

Specimen Book Art - Georgia Russell

Here's a specimen created by the Georgia Russell, a Scottish artist, who makes good use of old books. She works with jackets, text, and covers alike. Take a look at her work at the England Gallery.
